Our History
Located on Nantucket’s historic Old North Wharf, the Stark gallery is a family owned and operated gallery featuring the Stark family of artists.
Founded in 1972 by renowned luminist painter Robert W Stark Jr (1933-2014), the Stark gallery is the oldest existing gallery on Nantucket. Stark’s work is known for capturing the beauty of Nantucket, and highlighting the connection to the island of its people.
